The bottomless bucket of sensual desires

The Red-Yellow scene » There is an incessant flow of wine, there will always be a possibility to refill those glasses. You look upwards and you see the current, you can follow it through the funnel and towards the source pool, the reservoir of wine, of sensual pleasures pertaining to intoxicants. And so, the outlines are black, and the wine is Red. So what is the Yellow? It seems to serve as the background for the main event, right? It there fore symbolizes the atmosphere. The atmosphere is supposedly happy, clownish – Yellow. But than you look at that clown and you see that it is actually a sad and deformed clown – the tilted eyes and the crooked mouth – a somewhat grotesque version of happiness. Also, above his eyes you can see his third eye, the mind’s eye, which is completely shut.

Just say No.

The Blue-White scene » Remember that drugs campaign years ago? Well he said no, he turned over his glass, and said No to alcohol, to drunkenness, to the suppression of difficulty with the cheap means of mind sedation. The fact that he remained sober, in turn enables him the observation state of mind. The turned over glass and the observing face are of the same color, and also are emphasized with strong vertical lines – the whole Blue-White scene is on the side because it happens rarely, but it is strong enough to break the sequence of the Yellow atmosphere of lie and suppression, although the wine keeps on flowing through – symbolizing the unavoidable temptation of the sensual pleasures of the corporeal world.

Why practice Morality 5?

When you drink alcohol or smoke some reefer or whatever (and believe me I have plenty of experience with those, and with much stronger things) you enter a different state of mind, at times a much lighter and happier one, but this happiness is very superficial and even grotesque. It is far from actual happiness or even real joy of life. It causes you to develop tremendous amount of attachment  of these drugs, because your ability to feel good and at times even to function as a human all together, are depending on the sensation you get from them.

Further more is will not allow for deeper observation and contemplation of the nature of the reality of the situation and of the self. It is crude. However, the fact that one does not drink does not necessarily make him observant of the reality of his mind-matter phenomenon, but it at least allows that option, while as using intoxicants clearly and surely turns one into a joker who turns his own life into a joke.

Why the name Morality 5?

Abstain from taking any kind of intoxicants. This is the fifth precept of morality taught by The Buddha. The five basic moral precepts (Sila) are the foundation of the next stage of the purification of the mind, concentration (Samadhi).
