There is something about technology that we love to hate. It’s gray, it’s depressing, it’s cold and distant’ it reminds of death and pain…of course we’re talking about the heavy industries now and not the nifty-sweet hi-tech ones.

Some of us are united under the green titles and peaces of hypocrisy. Yet we tend to forget that this is the same technology that is the foundation to our existence in this day and age and that we could not and would not give it up had we been given the chance to. And why? because it’s convenient, that’s why and where our self interest lies the green house effect vapors.

Convenience of Interests

Can you imagine yourself walking from LA to NY just to save in jet fuels? Would you really wear 12 layers of clothes instead of just 3 just to avoid the waste of coal or electricity, and all their derivatives?

Let’s be honest: we would not give our convenience for any amount in the world, but what we can do is try to inject morality into the basis of our aggressive egos, and compassion to our confined self-interests. Let’s remember that technology has its uses and even sheer beauty, but also that it must integrate with the universe and not incinerate it in radioactive rains and armies of cloned babies…
