Decaying Venice, Vanishing Panorama
Without a doubt, Venice is one of the wonders of the world. Such immense charm is condensed into the architecture, atmosphere and presence of Venice, that at points it could almost be unreal. However, Venice like every other place, thing or one in the world is a relative phenomenon subject to the corrosive forces of time and space, subject to decay.
Now, although some of us might be able to see beauty and perfection even in states of decay and destruction (I am one of them), most of us are not. Regardless, there is an inherent, intrinsic and essential flaw in the cohesiveness of beauty which is mortal and mundane.
Venice Sublime, A panoramic view
During one of my daily sitting of Vipassana meditation recently (specifically, on the evening of the 26th of October 2009), I had a vision of Venice. Venice which is not subject to mortality. A mysterious charm which is not tinged by death. The Venice Panorama vision soon came to life, when all artistic elements have gained perfect cohesiveness.
I imagined myself sitting in such scenery, beyond the rules of nature, above the pain of mundane, immune to the ugliness of decay, surpassing the imperfections of pollution and filth, transcending my own humaneness and the boundaries restricted by time… I imagined myself where one could only be as an angel on earth… Wouldn’t you want to be in a place like that?

עבודה מרתקת. נראה כאילו הכנסת את ונציה לסלון הפרטי שלך. אני אוהבת את הזוית ממנה אני מסתכלת על העבודה, מרחב כזה
תודה לך מנד’לה…
